It’s a new year - a fresh start - a gift from a generous God. Today, with pen and paper, let’s reflect on these verses. May His life-giving words soak into our souls giving us His sustenance, His love, and His promise to thrive in all circumstances. May the roots of truth ground us. Let’s record the words and phrases the Holy Spirit gently whispers. May this be our declaration: We will discover joy, fulfillment, and the confidence to thrive in this year, 2016.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in His way.
As we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
