Seeds of Prayer~Thursday

Picture

Earlier this fall, my husband and I traveled to Utah for business. We were attending a team dinner party in the downtown area. At the end of the evening, we walked out of the house and saw a girl sitting on the opposite street corner. She was crying loudly while talking on a cell phone. While I only heard bits of what she was saying, I heard the word suicide more than once. I couldn’t walk away. I ran back inside the house and grabbed one of my friends, and we went over to see if she needed help.

She was very intoxicated and based on her overall appearance, she was a hurting young lady. My friend and I asked her if we could help and though she declined our offer for physical help (help was on the way from the friend she had phoned), she accepted our offer of prayer.
We prayed the love of God over her, and she wept and clung to my friend and I.  We waited with her until her ride came.

I will never forget that night. As my husband and I drove away, I began to wonder about her. Did she having a praying momma who had been interceding for her? Maybe at the moment I saw her, a grandma or grandpa was asking God to send people into her life.

I most likely will never know the end of this story until I get to heaven, but I’ve heard enough stories with striking similarities to know that night was a divine appointment for all of us.

Fellow mom, who are you praying for? An unsaved spouse? A parent or sibling? God hears, and God sees. He is working right now in answering your prayers for that person.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you that you know where (insert name of loved one here) is right now. I thank you that even at this moment, you are working to bring ___________  back to you. God, I ask that you send people into his/her path to speak to him/her about how much you love them. I ask for their salvation.
