Seeds of Prayer~Friday

Picture
“So My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.” Isaiah 55:11,Holman Christian Version

Praying scripture over your family is a powerful tool.  God’s word will not return empty. Our spoken words contain the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). When we pray the Word of God, we are praying words of life!

A mentor taught me to pray Ephesians 1 over my husband.  To give you an example, here a few verses with his name inserted:
“Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed Ben in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. 4 For He chose Ben in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight.” (Bold italics are mine.)Psalm 1 is a great passage to pray over your children.

“How happy is Dakota who does not follow the advice of the wicked
or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! Instead, Dakota’s delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and Dakota meditates on it day and night.  Dakota is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever Dakota does prospers.”  (Bold italics are mine.)

Not sure what to pray for your family? The word of God never returns empty. As you are reading your Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to give you specific scriptures to pray for your family. (And scriptures to declare over yourself, too!).

This is my prayer for you, my fellow mom who is in the trenches of motherhood with me:  “May he equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.” Hebrews 13:21
