1/22/2016 0 Comments Conquering Defeat~Friday![]() Day in and day out, we moms tackle the same mundane chores. Changing diapers. Folding laundry. Planning meals. Packing lunches. Driving carpool. Checking homework. Punching a timecard. Reading stories. Kissing boo-boos. Receiving little or no praise for our efforts can be discouraging. Most of what we do as moms is unglamorous, behind-the-scenes, drudgery. Rarely do we receive the coveted “Mom of the Year Award.” As long as everything runs smoothly, nobody seems to notice all the work it takes to keep a household together. But, “Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).” When the tasks we do are done to the glory of God, we have a never-ending resource of encouragement to tap into. “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24) Dear Father, Thank You for the work You have given me. Strengthen my weary hands so that I may do all I do for Your Glory. Remind me when I’m tempted to seek earthly praise that my reward is found in my inheritance in Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
