Today I’ve compiled a list of seven things I think we all need to look in the mirror and remind ourselves of daily...
1.) I am blessed. As for me, I have a roof over my head, a husband who loves me, three healthy children and food on our table. Blessings go beyond the bank account. What are your blessings? “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) 2.) I am loved. God loves me the same today as He did yesterday and will tomorrow. There is nothing I have done, am doing or will do that can make Him love me any less. I am accepted fully and loved unconditionally. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.” (Romans 8:37) 3.) I am forgiven. No matter what happened yesterday, today is a fresh start, a brand new day. “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God.” (1 Peter 3:18) 4.) I am chosen. God has uniquely made me, placed me here, for this time, for this place, for this role and has equipped me for every good work. “…for you are a chosen people…As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9) 5.) I can do all things through Christ. No matter what today holds, He’s got my back. “…I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13) 6.) My choices today determine my tomorrow. Today I can make wise choices that keep me on the right path. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) 7.) My words matter. I have the power to speak either life or death into my husband, children, friends and co-workers today. Speak life. “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” (Proverbs 18:21) Those are some good, solid truths we can bank on! I am always amazed at how quickly I let them slip away from me and have to go back and rediscover them again and again. If we want to experience the joy, confidence, peace and fulfillment that God intended for us in our motherhood, we have to remain rooted in Christ— in His love, and in His truth. So speak these truths out loud and let your roots grow down deep and take hold of these words today. Download a FREE, beautiful print of these 7 truths, compliments of The Tale of an Ugly House blog! Prayer: Father, I’ve been caught up in the drift again, wandering from your love and truth. Help me to bury your words deep in my heart, removing all fear and doubt, so that I may experience the fullness of life you intended for me. Help me to see myself the way that you see me, and help me to view my life in the light of your truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Author: Katie Gibson
